Danner Quarry Review | Men’s USA 8-Inch BR Work Boot
The Danner Quarry is by far the most comfortable work boot that I have reviewed. The actual U.S.A made boots, American Crafted for American Craftsmen. From the release of Danner’s very first Quarry work boot, it has become a staple for workers around the country.
The newest edition boots to the Quarry lineup are made in their Portland, Ore factory using imported parts. Since then, the boots have been upgraded big time and major improvements to their comfort and durability. Read the full Danner Quarry Review to know more about these boots.

From the beginning, Danner has crafted work boots that are built tough. Since then, the Danner Quarry has become a staple in work sites and worn by the most experienced craftsman, the ones that understand the value of a product that is built to last.
However, this dedication to building products that are designed to stand the test of time is not easy. It takes perfecting them year after year. I liked the fact that they focused on the highest areas of wear.
The midsole was always the first thing to go down. So, they updated that with the new Vibram midsole. They also updated the back-heel stitch. They even updated the stitch pattern to keep it away from high wear areas from the boot.
If you are like me, Danner should rank pretty high on your list of boots. Not only because they are American or every single pair is made perfect. But because of the fact that they make good-looking boots.
Take the Danner Men’s Quarry USA 8-Inch BR Work Boot for example or the Danner Men’s Quarry Wedge Work Boot
I’ve seen a lot of high praise for the Danner quarry wedge review, but in this article, I will be focusing more on the traditional Quarry work boot.

Lace to Toe Style
They are also one of the few work boot companies that still believe in the lace-to-toe style. They are not moving those laces all the way to the forefoot trying to save some leather.
They are pushing them down so that you get a really good strong fit when you lace yourself into that boot.
100% Waterproof
Now since the quarry is Gore-Tex, that means it is guaranteed waterproof. Guaranteed by the gore company, you can’t go wrong with that.
Recraftable And Resoleable
All the boots in the quarry line are Recraftable which means you can send them back to Danner and they will put a new sole on them. At a price, of course, they don’t put the new soles on for free you, got to pay them.
But if you’re using this boot for work and this is one of the few boots that I can say this about, you might want to get this resoled.
There’s a lot of structure that goes into the building of a quarry. It isn’t like a lighter-weight shoe where you’re going to really twist and turn in. You’re going to augment the fit of the boot.
The quarry is built on lots of solid materials with solid materials. So, it is truly resoleable. So, with your 200 and some odd dollars, you can throw another 100 at it and have new soles put on.
Vibram Sole
Now there are lots of boots in the quarry line and lots of boots that do different things. This one here is a basic boot.
It’s got a Vibram sole, a stable Vibram sole. It’s got a square heel. It’s got a sew-down welt all the way through which is kind of important.
And something that you’ve got to do when you own a boot like this is you’ve got to keep it mink oiled. You’ve got to keep all that debris and garbage from getting underneath inside the sewing down welt.
This is a boot that you have to take care of. I mean, after all, you’re going to invest 200 plus dollars into your feet, your mind should as well spend a few minutes taking care of it each week or every other week.
Premium Hardware
Danner uses some of the most beautiful hardware there is. It is their own hardware. Single piece machine brass eyelets all the way through.
Laces
Danner laces are synonymous with perfection.

Padding
On the Quarry 8-inch, they give you a nice inch and a half pad at the ankle and a nice pull on.
The pull-on in the back, not only is it a full thick piece of leather but there’s the lining inside there. So, it just doesn’t tear away and break as it gets wet and soaked you know from work and everything.
A Little Downside
If I had to point out something bad, it’s the break-in time with every single pair of Quarry. Quarry’s take a long time to break-in. They take a long time to get soft. So, with that being said, this is one of those boots that you don’t want to hit really hard.
You want to give this a few days on and a few days off. You don’t want to cause any blisters or any pain to your feet. After all, your feet make you money. Don’t hurt them.
Footbed
Danner has perfected this type of footbed that is like nobody else’s. It’s not thick, and it’s not really a heavy footbed. But because of the way the boot fits, because of the construction of this boot, you don’t need a lot of cushioning from the insole.
A lot of your comfort comes from the way the boot forms and fits your foot after a long period of time and the way you become one with the boot.

The Danner Quarry boots can do everything work-related. Whether you are stomping on a shovel, moving dirt, or on your feet for 12 hours, with them on, if your feet could speak, they would be thanking you.
If you can tolerate the long break-in time, this pair will be the best of your purchases. That’s all for the Danner Quarry Review. Until next time.
